Nature of problem:
Interactive least-squares fitting of analytical models of spectra lineshape functions to electron spectroscopy spectra.

Unusual features:
The user must supply a subroutine which calculates theoretical values of the quantities to be fitted and their first partial derivatives to the adjustable parameters. A Java runtime interpreter, or the Java Development Kit, version 1.0.2 is required.
