Nature of problem:
Nuclear size and charge corrections to the virtual photon spectrum accompanying electrons or muons of either charge scattered from a nucleus of mass number A and charge Z are calculated in second order Born approximation for magnetic dipole (M1), electric dipole (E1) and electric quadrupole (E2) transitions.

Solution method:
An analytic expression for the differential inelastic electron scattering cross section is evaluated. The distortion effects due to the charge of the nucleus are taken into account to first order in infinity Z (infinity = e**2/hc) and the finite size effects are taken into account by including a nuclear inelastic form factor.
