Nature of problem:
Evaluation of total and differential cross sections in absolute and normalized form for angular distributions in low-energy nuclear reactions of the type (a,a), (a,b), (a,bgamma) or (a,bgamma1-gamma2) according to statistical compound-nucleus theory in j-j coupling formalism. The Algol program "MANDY" (CPC 1 (1969) 35) has been rewritten as "MANDYF" in Fortran-IV, retaining the original features of its counterpart.

Restrictions:
In the present version of "MANDYF", radiative capture transitions have not been included, and orbital angular momenta in entrance and exit channels have been limited to l<=8, with the number of extra exit channels confined to O3<= 40 for dimensional reasons. To distinguish O- from O+ nuclear states, appropriate machine-specific procedures have to be devised.
