Nature of problem:
This program uses a Fortran subroutine generated by a computer algebra package, for smoothing data. The weights used are derived from the applcation of formulae for least squares fitting.

Solution method:
The relevant data values are inserted into a simple linear expression.

Polynomials of degree 5 or less. Smoothing over a maximum of 11 points.
