Nature of problem:
The magnetic coordinates B and L are adiabatic invariants of the motion of charged particles trapped in the magnetic field of the earth and, therefore, convenient for correlating measured particle fluxes.

Solution method:
A perturbation approach is used for the integration of the differential equations for the field lines.
